He began his career in energy and soon after turned to shipping. He introduced the term Energy Shipping to describe the intersection of these two fields, and especially the so-called wet trades (the maritime transportation of natural gas, crude oil, oil products etc.), but also the shore-based (mainly pipeline) alternatives.
